Red canna indica - botanical garden Baguio. canna indica are common across all tropical count ries in SE Asia and can be found in a wide variety of pretty colors. Most common canna in the Philippines are red, yellow and pink in smaller and larger species.
Canna indica loves wet and nutrient rich soil - hence often found road side along sewage rich waters or creeks with nutrient rich soil. Canna blooms all year. Also in dry season if sufficient irrigation provided.

When take this flower, i just curious in the middle of this flower, it's take couple days to figure out what to name this photo, finally name of "swirl" comes out... flower with combination of white and red, somehow it may like the flying bird.

The poppy bloomed, but it was so heavy it broke the stem ... I had to prop it up to take photos :(

The mountain sunflowers found in Baguio are much higher and larger in blossom than the sunflower varieties blooming in hot zones at ocean level in the Philippines. This mountain sunflowers often are far more than 2 meter in height, while the ocean level sunflowers usually are normally around 1 meter height only and much smaller in blossom diameter.
